Anni Kumari has arrived early in the morning, is hailed from Jharkhand but is now based in Delhi. She has done bachelors of Political Science at Miranda House and finally realized that she had a natural skill for drawing and painting and had applied for Fine Arts at College of Art in Delhi University.
She has told about her previews art works which she had researched about thousands insects and studied this flying world of colors, textures, she referred a special attention to butterflies and the amazing colors, designs, sizes of this particular insect. Also she spoke about her art practice based on observations about space and time and astrological researches with the wisdom of transporting this data into her paintings and concepts. Currently, she is a visiting faculty at College of Art of Delhi.
Anni Kumari was very inspired in astrology and the star’s constellations. She has a deep research in astrologic myths, legends and old studies of different religions. She started in a dark red brown background as the stars could be reflected on the ground directly. She is influenced with real life and what she perceives around herself from her birth. The cold nights, dark sky, little dots in the sky connecting depicting images or compositions in the nocturne scenario.
The artist emphasizes the idea of recognizing the process, seeing the things in a complete sense of appreciation and every part of it, either mistakes and all sides of the process.
9153 Stars, comes as a title after a pleasant moment of sharing ideas about numbers. Someone asked her “What do you see in Math? How do you explain the numbers?” and a friendly conversation of numerology made her time busy while she was creating the infinite number of stars in her canvas.
